Go India Go!

In this second post, the lord will like to talk about cricket.

Coming from a country where virtually everybody follows cricket, it is very common for one to be a cricket fan. While I support and follow my national team in international matches, I haven’t decided on a team to follow in the IPL.

With the world cup in progress, these are exiting times indeed for a cricket follower. India’s campaign in this world cup has been a mixed baggage so far. Wins against minnows, scraping through with a point against England and losing to South Africa. The way it is heading, India will post probably play Pakisthan or Sri Lanka in the Quaterfinals. Both are unpredictable teams full of match winners. The west Indies match later this week will be exiting.

Nadal-ism

The first sport that I am going to write about is Tennis. I have been keenly following tennis for the last 5 years. I am a fan of Nadal and I also support Djokovic and Federer among others.

The tournament currently taking place is the Indian Wells 1000 masters tournament. This tournament takes importance for several reasons. The first being that this is the first 1000 masters title of the season and every player would like to make a good start to the season. It’s no wonder hence that every top 10 player in the circuit is taking part in this tournament. Secondly it is important for Nadal to do well in this tournament if he has to maintain his lead at the top of the rankings. He lost to Ljubicic in the semi-finals last year and has to defend 360 points. His closest competitor Federer lost in the third round and hence has a chance to make a lot of points.  Coming back from injury, Nadal’s performance would be a thing to watch out for. Another player to watch out for is Del Potro. He is making gradual progress since his injury and has not won a major tournament since god knows when. He is coming in unseeded into this tournament and would be keen to perform well.  Enough said!

Hello World!

This is a venture by a Uber-bored jobless person to do something creative in the seemingly abundant time that he has.

He is bored because he is in his final semester of college life and is not expected to do any academic work. He is jobless because he managed to get himself a job and is hence not interested in applying for/competing for further placements. He has abundant free time because of the aforementioned reasons.

The author, who will here be referred to as Sridhar, me, I or an assortment of other fitting appellations, intends to write about sporting teams and sportspersons that he follows. This blog will be a comprehensive account of events across four sports throughout the season. The author will write highly controversial matter and welcomes comments and corrections, if any.
